Rail Sector Position Paper: The New CEF

A coalition of the railway sector composed of CER, EIM, AERRL, UIP, UITP and UNIFE are calling for a more ambitious EU Multi-annual Financial Framework (MFF). Concretely, the new Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) to be proposed by mid-2025, which is the backbone of the EU transport infrastructure investment policy, needs a co-funding of at least EUR 100 billion. With this position paper, rail sector associations set investment priorities to realise the Single European Railway Area including the TEN-T and to ensure that the transport system as a whole efficiently supports EU’s economic growth.
