InnoTrans 2018

18 September - 21 September 2018

For this year's edition UNIFE is developing a robust speaking programme for its stand 302 in Hall 4.2. The programme will feature speakers from the EU institutions, the European Union Agency for Railways, the Shift2Rail Joint Undertaking, UNIFE member companies, and international stakeholders on a diverse set of topics that are important to the European rail supply industry. This will start from midday (around 13:30 TBC) on Tuesday, 18 September  with the launch of the 7th edition of the World Rail Market Study which will provide a comprehensive overview and key insights on the most relevant developments in the rail supply market at a global level. Throughout these four days we will host a number of discussions and presentations where the main projects and initiatives that UNIFE and its member companies are involved in will be displayed. This includes all of the ongoing European Research projects including Shift2Rail, the UNIFE R&I priorities for 2030, the implementation of the Technical Pillar of the Fourth Railway Package, ERTMS, IRIS Certification™, and UNIFE’s Digitalisation/Cyber-security activities. In addition, UNIFE will host a high-level Dialogue Forum on “ERTMS, the backbone of the digital railway”, on Thursday, 20 September from 10:00 to 12:00 in the main conference area for InnoTrans, Palais am Funkturm.

More information on the UNIFE programme at InnoTrans will be available in the coming weeks.

InnoTrans is the most prominent international event for the rail sector. This is where inspiring innovations and ground-breaking world debuts have been adding a valuable driving force to the global rail industry.

In 2016, there were 2 955 exhibitors from 60 countries, 137 391 visitors from 119 countries, and 149 world debuts. This is where international decision-makers from industry, transport and politics meet at high-profile panel discussions and expert meetings to debate the latest mobility topics and visions of the future. In 2016, over 1 000 national and international senior representatives of the business, scientific and political communities attended the opening ceremony. In addition to EU Transport Commissioner, Violeta Bulc and German Federal Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure, numerous other ministers of transport and executives from many international rail manufacturing and operating companies were part of the fair.
