The UNIRAILINFRA Committee brings together suppliers, contractors, and integrators active in the fields of engineering, production, installation, etc. and the EFRTC (European Federation of Railways Trackworks Contractors). The Committee provides a platform for consensus building on infrastructure topics at a pre-competitive stage, aiming at promoting investment and innovation  in the railway infrastructure sector.

Within this context, the purpose of the UNIRAILINFRA Committee is to discuss and promote the development of the rail infrastructure sector. It also plays an advisory role for UNIFE technical and political  activities  that  have an impact on infrastructure. In 2014, the discussions within the UNIRAILINFRA Committee were focused on topics such as standardisation and regulation activities (e.g. TSIs Infrastructure and Energy subsystems), research activities (e.g. European research projects and Shift2Rail) and public affairs activities (e.g. Infrastructure policy and EU Funds, trade and international issues).
